After Jesus' death, Thomas was one of the followers who was devastated, just like the others. He couldn't believe how quickly all of his hopes and plans had been dashed when Jesus died on the cross. It had a profound impact on him, causing him to question everything. Despite the others telling him that they had seen the risen Jesus, Thomas was unable to believe it.
